A woman is fighting for her life and another person has been injured in a head-on crash on a major Sunshine Coast road.

A woman is fighting for her life in a horror head-on crash in Coolum Beach on Monday afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the Coolum Yandina Rd southbound was closed at the roundabout following a serious head-on crash involving two cars travelling on the Sunshine Mwy just after 2.30pm.
Two were injured in the crash.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman initially said paramedics were assessing two people with potentially life-threatening injuries, still trapped in the cars.
Another Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman later said a man in his 20s had suffered a head injury and was in a stable condition. A woman had suffered life-threatening injuries, he said.
Motorists have been told to expect lengthy delays, with police diverting traffic onto David Low Way.
