Notorious Gold Coast identity Harley Barbaro is a proud first-time father, and has named his newborn son after his late brother.

Barbaro, an accused Mongols bikie and infamous underworld family member, has taken to Instagram to announce the birth earlier this week.

“Proud parent moment hehe,” he told his followers.

“Yesterday at 8.39am 15/3/21 my beautiful partner gave me the gift of my first son 8 pound Rossario Sonny Barbar. If there is one thing I have done perfect in life is making this little boy with @haylzwebb (Hayley Webb).

“I feel so blessed both are healthy and safe and in love with this little man.”

Rossario was the name of Barbaro’s brother who took his own life in 2017 soon after another sibling, Pasquale, was shot dead by hooded gunmen on a western Sydney street in a suspected gangland killing.

The slaying is believed to have left Rossario devastated and he committed suicide at his mother’s Gold Coast home.

Rossario and Pasquale were just the latest in the Barbaro clan to meet an untimely end.

Their grandfather, also named Pasquale, was shot dead outside his Brisbane home in 1999.

A cousin, also named Pasquale, was gunned down alongside gangster Jason Moran in Melbourne in a murder made famous by the Underbelly TV series.

Harley Barbaro will be sentenced on April 1 for habitual consorting after pleading guilty last month in Southport Magistrates Court.

His lawyer, Campbell MacCallum, told the court that the charge came from Barbaro using an encrypted app to chat with ‘childhood friends’.

Last September, Ms Webb was found not guilty of refusing to give police access to her mobile phone after a magistrate ruled they had no right to seize it.
