A Sunshine Coast hair styling tool brand has recently celebrated its 17th year in business and shared its top tips to success after racking up millions of dollars in sales.

Georgia Foley-Moule and her parents Lorraine and James Foley are the three-person team behind million-dollar business H2D Hair Care which manufactures professional-grade hair styling tools to wholesalers, salons and other customers.

The upcoming milestone for the brand will celebrate their stock shelved in the Sunshine Plaza for the first time through wholesalers Oz Hair and Beauty

Oz Hair and Beauty will hold a grand opening in early November and collaborate with H2D Hair Care to offer free products for their first purchasing customers.

Ms Foley-Moule said she cried when she received the call delivering the news.

“ I’m so, so proud of what we accomplished,” she said.

The Foley couple initially started the brand in the UK a few years before the trio migrated to Australia in 2007 for a better life.

Ms Foley-Moule said her mother worked in a salon and her father took on multiple jobs to fund H2D Hair Care in its early days.

The family arrived with just four suitcases and a few cardboard boxes; fast forward 17 years, H2D Hair Care now rakes in a seven figure sum in sales each year.

Ms Foley-Moule – who also runs marketing business Coastal Social Co – said the business, which her parents poured blood, sweat and tears into, meant “everything” to her.

Covid-19 brought a time of change for the family business and their wholesalers, turning to social media and online shopping.

Ms Foley-Moule said their business’s profits increased throughout Covid and have raked in increasing seven figure sums in sales every year since.

She shared her three tips to success for other smaller businesses.

Her first piece of advice is to worry about yourself and your own goals, rather than comparing yourself to and being influenced by a competitor

Ms Foley-Moule also advised to never rush anything or go into debt and strive to save up and ensure you have financial backing and security.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day,” she said.

Her final words of wisdom is to build connections and provide personal customer service which Ms Foley-Moule and her parents personally take care of.

Ms Foley-Moule said their brand is “renowned” for customer service.

The brand launched a new product H2D Xtreme last year, which has since sold more than 20,000 units, Ms Foley-Moule said.

They also recently launched a presale for a new styling tool in collaboration with Oz Hair and Beauty, which resulted in 80 per cent of their stock already selling.
