One of the world’s most acclaimed hip-hop artists, Kendrick Lamar, will headline this year’s Spilt Milk festival, with organisers unveiling the full 2025 line-up in a surprise early morning announcement.
The Grammy-winning rapper and 2025 Super Bowl halftime performer will top the bill over the four festival dates, including the Gold Coast show set to take place on Sunday, December 14 at the Gold Coast Sports Precinct.
It marks a major coup for the festival — and for Queensland — following a turbulent 12 months for Australia’s live music industry, which saw Spilt Milk’s 2024 edition cancelled due to mounting financial and logistical pressures.
Now, with a blockbuster international line-up, Spilt Milk is preparing for a high-profile return.
Joining Lamar is rising US star Doechii, whose rapid ascent has made her one of the most talked-about acts on the global music scene. Also confirmed are Dominic Fike, ScHoolboy Q, and techno artist Sara Landry, alongside a strong mix of emerging and established names across genres.
The touring festival will also visit Ballarat (December 6), Perth (December 7), and Canberra (December 13) before finishing on the Gold Coast.
Presale tickets will be available from May 8, with general release on May 9.
Spilt Milk’s return — headlined by one of modern hip-hop’s most influential figures, is being hailed by industry observers as a crucial boost for a festival circuit battered by rising costs and sluggish consumer confidence.
Lamar’s inclusion is expected to draw record crowds, with organisers promising a festival experience that lives up to its past line-ups, which have included Post Malone, Lorde, Flume, and Steve Lacy.
