Footage has captured a shooting incident at a Beenleigh business overnight where one man has been injured.
A group of offenders are believed to have attempted to gain entry to Ace Mechanical Queensland before they were interrupted by a man and woman.
The offenders then shot the man in the leg, before they fled the scene in a ute.
The 51-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries following the shooting at a business on Logan River Rd, Beenleigh shortly before 10pm.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a leg wound.
CCTV footage from a nearby business shows a ute turning in from Logan River Rd and parking at the entrance to Ace Mechanical Qld.
Several people are then seen getting out of the ute and walking into the business.
A few minutes later, the people get back into the ute and drive down Logan River Rd, before performing a U-turn at the traffic lights before driving away from the scene.
A 51-year-old woman was uninjured during the incident.
The Courier-Mail understands that vehicle mechanic Peter Mayfield was working late on Thursday night when the shooting incident occurred.
A nearby business owner described Mr Mayfield as a “hard-working man”.
“He is a nice guy, hard-working, he normally works late at night,” the man said.
A nearby business worker said the area has been previously impacted by robberies.
“It is pretty bad, especially because we just opened here,” he said.
“It is a bit nervous what can happen at night.
“This area has already been robbed, we’re probably the last one that haven’t got hit yet, so it’s pretty bad.
“It can happen anywhere, but we don’t want it to happen here.”
A crime scene has been declared at the business and investigations are ongoing to locate those involved.
Police believe the shooting incident was a targeted attack.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have any relevant information or CCTV/dashcam to come forward.
