A man has been left fighting for life after a stolen 4WD ploughed into a parked utility north of Brisbane at the weekend.

The crash happened in Sovereign Ave, Bray Park, in the City of Moreton Bay about 9.35am on Saturday.

Residents in the neighbourhood reported dangerous driving prior to the crash.

The driver of the Toyota Prado, a 28-year-old man, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Police said the Prado had been stolen from an address at Chermside in Brisbane’s north on Friday night.

Channel 7 reported that the parked utility belonged to an 18-year-old man who had borrowed it from grandparents after his car was written off in recent floods.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage was urged to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
