The dinner that Kiesha Thompson was meant to eat the night she was allegedly murdered is still sitting in the fridge.

She had just walked her daughter to daycare on Friday when she was hit by a Toyota Prado on Allamanda Drive at Daisy Hill south of Brisbane.

Her ex-partner Tyler Scott William James, 27, and his new girlfriend Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, have been charged with murder.

Her best friend and housemate, Mikayla Mulloy, told The Courier-Mail she couldn’t bring herself to throw out the dinner that had been prepared earlier.

“I was waiting around, me and my girlfriend had cooked dinner. Her dinner (tacos) is still in the fridge. We can’t bring ourselves to throw it out yet,” she said.

Never did Ms Mulloy think her housemate wouldn’t return home.

“I was wondering where Kiesha was. I started texting her and then, I called her sister, Keyara and that’s when Keyara said, “something’s happened. I’m nearly at your house,” she said.

“I saw Keyara pull up, and I just, I remember telling myself, get out of the car, Kiesha, you need to get out of the car.”

Right before Kiesha left to drop her daughter off at childcare, Ms Mulloy remembers she was in a rush to get out of the house.

Ms Mulloy said they had just been talking about how expensive the first mobile phones were after watching a TikTok.

“She had the most random amount of trivia knowledge that would never be asked at a trivia contest,” Ms Mulloy said.

“But she knew, she knew the conversion rate between whenever those mobile phones first came out, and today she’s like, ‘imagine paying nearly 10 grand for a mobile phone’.

”She was running a bit late. I think we spent too long talking about the mobile phone thing, and she was running a bit late, and she was really frantic.”

Since the alleged murder, Ms Mulloy has started cleaning out her room. During the emotional task, Ms Mulloy said she found a half finished painting that was meant for the anniversary of when they first met.

“I’ve found a bunch of half-painted canvases and artworks, and it’s bittersweet to say the least about all the things that I’ve seen. I’ve seen half finished paintings for specific people that I know they’re for,” she said.

Ms Mulloy has kept all the paintings and many of their friends are going to collect them.

“I feel like everybody who knew Kiesha needs a piece of her artwork because it’s she put everything she had into,” she said.

The unfinished painting for their anniversary had a bunch of all their favourite memories including the time they first met.

“We met on the first day of Grade 3, we were sitting in line because we were the first two in line,” she said.

“And so the first words that we said to each other, I said, “dabba duba”. I have no idea where that came from and she said, “dabba duba dee”.

“And we’ve been best friends ever since.”

Ms Thompson said she felt robbed of all the memories she could have had.

“She was supposed to be my maid of honour when I get married. She was supposed to be the godparents to my kids,” she said.

“I feel devastated.”
