Jetstar will on Wednesday launch an incredible airfare sales blitz with prices from as low as $44 to destinations across Queensland as part of the blockbuster Bluey tourism campaign.
The loveable cartoon cattle dog is the face of Tourism and Event’s Queensland’s latest major marketing campaign, with the Jetstar sale coming hot on the heels of the blue heeler.
The Tourism and Events Queensland campaign, which is expected to deliver an additional 1.3 million holiday visitors to Queensland who are estimated to spend an additional $1.7 billion by June next year.
The Jetstar sale will include one-way fares from Newcastle to the Gold Coast from $44 and from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast from $49.
Melbourne-Gold Coast and Sydney-Gold Coast seats also start from $49 in the sale, which will run from Wednesday until August 4 unless sold out prior.
Four New Zealand routes are included in the sale which also features flights from Queensland to Adelaide and Perth.
Queensland Tourism Minister Michael Healy said the sale would motivate people to travel to the state’s tourism gems from all across the country and across the ditch.
“These airfare deals are great value – give up a daily coffee for a week and you can book a flight to Queensland,” he said.
“We know these sales work to move people from the dreaming stage to locking in a holiday and that’s why we’ve partnered with Jetstar to back this sale.
“With Aussies right around the country experiencing cost of living pressures, we’re doing everything we can to offer value-for-money, affordable holidays here in Queensland.”
TEQ CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said airfare sales were a tremendous way to stimulate travel.
“We are laser-focused on our campaigns delivering bookings for our tourism industry operators and this latest partnership with Jetstar offers incredible value airfares right across Queensland,” she said.
“Campaigns like this are so important for the 260,000 Queenslanders who work in tourism.”
Jetstar Group CEO Steph Tully said she was excited to be able to offer such low fares to allow even more people to visit “beautiful Queensland”.
“Whether you want to take the kids to Bluey’s World in Brisbane, visit the spectacular Whitsunday Coast or spend time on a Gold Coast beach; we fly to nine different ports across the state and sale fares will be available to all of these destinations from across Australia and New Zealand,” she said.
