JACKIE Trad has referred herself to Queensland’s corruption watchdog and stepped down from managing the Cross River Rail project temporarily in the wake of her controversial property purchase.
The Deputy Premier’s decision comes a day before she is due to be grilled at Budget estimates hearings about her purchase of a Woolloongabba property near the Cross River Rail route and her failure to declare it on Parliament’s register of member’s interests within the required time frame.

Calls to refer house purchase matter to CCC
Ms Trad last week committed to sell the three-bedroom home at no profit after receiving advice from the Integrity Commissioner.
The advice has not been released.
The contract for the $695,500 home was signed the week before the Government announced the winning bidder for the $5.4 billion project.
Ms Trad supplied a statement about her decision to self-refer to the Crime and Corruption Commission to the ABC.
“The matters raised in recent days need to be clearly resolved once and for all — I continue to refute the allegations made by the LNP,” Ms Trad said in the statement.
“I want this resolved as quickly as possible and so I have decided to refer this to the CCC to consider whether it’s a matter that requires investigation.
She said while the matter was being considered by the CCC “I have undertaken to remove myself from any decision making involving Cross River Rail”.
Ms Trad said she had been advised by the Integrity Commissioner against releasing the advice publicly while the CCC considers the matter.
