An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire after a Brisbane family home went up in flames on Sunday afternoon.
The Cannon Hill home was gutted by an aggressive fire, but thankfully all household members escaped unharmed in the incident.
QFD crews arrived on scene of the fire on Gatling Road, at 12:05pm.
A QFD spokesman said the house fire was well alight and both of the residents that were home at the time, made it out of the building before the crew’s arrival.
The family did not sustain any injuries or suffer from smoke inhalation, according to QAS who assessed the residents on scene.
The fire was put out by 12:45pm and the scene is still under investigation by QFD and police.
It is believed that the fire started in an upstairs bedroom where it then spread taking over the entire top floor.
The downstairs level of the two storey house managed to escape the flames and was mostly undamaged.
Neighbours in surrounding houses were informed by QFD that it was safe to enter their houses.
