He was cheered by other protesters, with one woman yelling: “He’s back, woooh!”

Mr Corrigan, who lives in Murwillumbah, was among more than 50 people fined after the August 22 protest. Ten people were also arrested.

Meanwhile, police reinforcements are being sent to City Hall on the Gold Coast, with anti-vax protesters threatening to storm the building.

Dozens have gathered outside the council chambers at Evandale for the ‘freedom’ protest.

Barricades have been erected to stop vehicles driving in and police are guarding the doors to the building where councillors are holding their regular weekly meeting.

The crowd has been chanting ‘freedom’ and is threatening to invade the building at noon.

One woman said it was a ‘silent protest’ following a blockade staged by truckies on the M1 on Monday.

“It’s about our choice over vaccination,” she said.
