Harry Styles: Pop star on Gold Coast for Qld show | set list

Harry Styles — and the fan-demonium that follows the English singer everywhere he goes — has arrived on the Gold Coast ahead of his only Queensland show on Tuesday.

Harry Styles mania has arrived in Queensland.

After performing two shows in Melbourne late last week, the mega star travelled to the Gold Coast via a private jet on Sunday ahead of his Queensland show.

Fans were waiting at Gold Coast airport but the Grammy-winning artist was chauffeured from the venue in a private car to the nearby Langham hotel, the city’s new luxury offering, where he will reportedly stay during his stint in the city, monitored by security detail.

It comes as he prepares to play the only Queensland show of his global tour, called Love On Tour, taking the stage at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast on Tuesday in what are his first stadium shows in Australia.

Styles, who began in his career in mega boy band One Direction, last performed at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in 2018 and was due to perform at the Brisbane venue again when the tour was first announced in 2020, and subsequently cancelled due to the global pandemic.

When Styles locked in new Australian dates and a stadium upgrade, Major Events Gold Coast – an arm of the City of the Gold Coast – launched a bid with promoter Live Nation to lure Styles to the Gold Coast.

Luxe new hotel The Langham, which also hosted comedian Chris Rock during his tour last year among other high profile guests, was an added sweetener.

Fans are expected to descend on Metricon Stadium in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with queuing open from 8am.

Dedicated security staff has been ushered in to monitor any fans attempting to camp at the venue overnight, and anyone caught doing so will be asked to move on and refused entry.

Gates open from 5pm while the event is due to begin at 6:50pm.

Drop off and pick up will be located in the Blue Carpark with traffic delays expected.

Styles is being supported on the Australian and New Zealand legs of his tour by duo Wet Leg.
