Nearly a dozen people with links to the LNP or previous relationships with ministers have been appointed by the government in the six months since David Crisafulli was elected Premier.

Jeff Seeney, deputy premier in Campbell Newman’s LNP government, was appointed to the board of CS Energy.

On the eve of the Easter long weekend Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie named Julian Simmonds, the defeated LNP MP for Ryan, new head of Economic Development Queensland.

Newman government Mines Minister Andrew Cripps was appointed state recovery coordinator following this year’s North Queensland flood event.

The western Queensland flood event resulted in LNP-linked former Quilpie mayor Stuart Mackenzie being appointed state recovery coordinator.

Michael Hart, who resigned as the LNP’s long-term Burleigh MP at the October state election, didn’t need to wait long for a new gig.

In January he was tapped to chair the policy-advising Work Health and Safety Board.

WorkCover Queensland chair Chloe Kopilovic sought preselection for the LNP in Fairfax a decade ago.

Under Treasurer Paul Williams and Energy Queensland board member Bill Armagnacq previously worked with Treasurer David Janetzki.

Bruce Highway Advisory Board member Luke Bird donated to the LNP in 2022.

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by any of the appointees.

Separately, the LNP government has named dozens of new public servants, judicial officers and board members since it swept to power on October 26.
