Tributes have flowed for a mother and her son after they were killed in a horror single-vehicle crash in western Queensland.
Emergency services were called to Chinchilla-Wondai Rd at Chances Plain, northeast of Chinchilla on the Western Downs, about 4.10pm on Wednesday, May 7.
Elimbah woman Jessie Asquith, 30, and her two children Ivy, 9, and Ace, 7, were travelling in a grey Mitsubishi Pajero when the vehicle left the road, rolled and hit a tree.
Queensland Fire Department said the three occupants had to be cut free of the wreckage and despite efforts from paramedics Ms Asquith died at the scene.
Ivy and Ace were taken to Chinchilla Hospital, however Ace died a short time later.
Ms Asquith’s father Mark said his daughter and children were planning on starting a new life in Chinchilla and that he was still coming to terms with the tragic loss.
Family friend Sara Condon launched a GoFundMe in the wake of the tragedy, which has raised more than $5000 within a day.
