Ellidy Pullin has announced the birth of her child with late Australian snowboarder Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin.
Ms Pullin announced that she had a daughter, Minnie Alex Pullin, on Monday, October 25 by sharing a heartfelt video of her dog Rumi meeting the baby and laying with her blanket.
“Hello, I had a baby,” she said on her Instagram story on Thursday.
“And we have been a lil (sic) busy and tired.”
Pullin announced her pregnancy to her thousands of Instagram followers in June this year after Chumpy’s passing last July.
Ms Pullin conceived her child after undergoing IVF using Chumpy’s sperm which was retrieved posthumously.
The announcement comes after Pullin opened up about the joy and new-found grief that comes with bringing a baby into the world without her soulmate by her side.
“My grief is for Chump, he’s missing out on being a dad, I see dads with their babies knowing how good he would have been,” she said on her Darling, Shine! podcast in August.
“I’m having a baby which is going to be the most beautiful thing ever and bittersweet in that it’s almost going to create more trauma here and there,” she told the podcast.
“It’s really hard to swallow the fact that he’s missing this, he deserves this time, he wanted this, he would have been the best dad.”
