A fire has ripped through a Gold Coast brothel early this morning, requiring six crews to try to contain it at its peak.

Emergency services, including fire and emergency, police and paramedic crews arrived on at Silk’s On on Upton Street in Bundall just after 4:30am.

The single-storey industrial building was reportedly well involved when fire crews begun attempting to control the inferno.

A QFES spokeswoman confirmed that while crews were able to quickly contain and put the fire out just before 6am, a few will be staying onsite this morning to assist with fire investigators.

Employees at neighbouring stores told The Courier-Mail how the early morning blaze has caused massive damage to the property.

“I came in thing morning and the fire had just wrecked the whole place,” one worker said.

A QAS spokeswoman also confirmed that no one had to be transported to hospital due to the fire.

The brothel fire came just hours after a student accommodation complex erupted in flames in nearby Underwood.

Five students awoke to discover the fire as it tore through the downstairs of their two-storey home about 9.15pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services raced to the Arlington St address, while firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 11.30pm.

The five students, who had already made their way out of the home when help arrived, were monitored by paramedics at the scene.

The Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed no one required hospital treatment.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
