Emergency crews rushed to Beerwah on Thursday after a vehicle crashed into a fence, trapping a woman in her 70s inside.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson said they received a call at about 11.50am, reporting a person trapped after their vehicle veered off Peachester Rd.

Two Queensland Fire and Rescue crews attended the scene and worked to free the woman, eventually opening up the car’s roof to extract her.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said firefighters freed the woman within five minutes of arriving before handing her over to paramedics at 12.20pm.

She suffered neck and leg injuries and was taken in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
