Brisbane mechanic allegedly takes client’s Audi S5 on 102km/h joy ride in 50 zone

Dashcam footage of a Brisbane mechanic allegedly taking a client’s Audi S5 on joy rides, including one 50km/h over the limit, has gone viral. WATCH THE VIDEO

Dashcam footage has captured one of numerous alleged joy rides a Brisbane mechanic has taken in a client’s Audi S5.

Posted to Dashcam Owners Australia’s Facebook page, the Audi’s owner explains they had simply taken their vehicle to the mechanic for a roadworthy test.

However, when viewing the dashcam on the Audi’s return, they discovered the mechanic had gone on “lots of joy rides with family and friends”.

In further dashcam footage, the mechanic and a passenger can be heard discussing speeding tickets and the owner of the car, stating that “Ben was a nice guy”.

The alleged speedster was also caught running a red light, and reaching speeds up to 116km/h and 120km/h.

“Brought my Audi S5 into small mechanic in Brisbane for a roadworthy,” the Audi owner explains.

“He took it home for the night and did lots of joy rides with family and friends.

“Lots more footage. 102kmh in a 50 zone.”

The footage has been viewed almost 200,000 times and attracted thousands of comments.

“Decent old road test, well it looks like it passed with flying colours,” one person wrote.

“Time for a new mechanic,” wrote another.

There have also been several calls to find the mechanic responsible for the incident.

The owner, who wished to be identified by his first name Ben, told 7 News he was furious his car would be treated like this by someone he trusted with its care.

The mechanic refused to comment to 7 News.

Queensland Police Service have been approached for comment.
