THE three battlers for the seat of Gaven appear to have lost their pleasant dealings with each other.

Sitting member Alex Douglas has accused LNP counterpart Sid Cramp of baling him up in a cafe and taking photos on his phone as he had coffee with two ambulance officers.

Dr Douglas snapped his own photo, of Mr Cramp leaving the cafe and phoned the police.

“He came in with his camera and started making accusations,” Dr Douglas said.

Paramedics and representatives of ambulance union United Voice met at the booth to sign a pledge for better working conditions for ambos.

Candidates Michael Riordan (ALP), Toni McPherson (GREENS), Chris Ivory (IND) and Adam Marcinkowski (PUP) all signed the pledge, along with Dr Douglas — but ambulance communications staffer Mr Cramp did not.

An ambulance union spokeswoman said Mr Cramp had reported the union representatives to the Queensland Ambulance Service, which prohibits officers from wearing their uniforms for political purposes.

She said the officers were wearing union shirts that looked like uniforms.

Mr Cramp did not return the Bulletin’s calls.
