SOUTHPORT MP Rob Molhoek was just trying to show he was hard at work on the election trail but a photo fail instead made him the butt of Twitter jokes yesterday.
The LNP member posted a photo to Twitter with the caption ‘I’ve been out chatting to Southport locals about our strong plan to grow Qld!’
Only problem is, Mr Molhoek, who has 1,100 followers, was pictured standing on the side of the road, next to a bunch of empty chairs looking glum.

The tweet made him the butt of Twitter jokes with followers commenting ‘looks like a one way conversation there!’, ‘awkward’, ‘place is teeming with people! Errr ... not?’ and ‘those empty chairs show how popular your plans are’.
@Molhoek @LNPQLD looks like a one way conversation there!

@Molhoek @Qldaah I've been interacting with people too. *sadly re-arranges empty chairs for party games that will never happen.*

@Molhoek @Qldaah But there's no one there. Hint. When you post photos like this make sure you have people with you.

Mr Molhoek said he took the photo at the start of his roadside meet-and-greet near the light rail station on Queen Street.
“The reason I post those photos is so people know where I am ... they’ll turn up at my roadside and say they’ve seen it on Facebook,” he said.
Mr Molhoek said he was at the roadside for about three hours and he had a ‘constant stream of people’ stopping by for a chat.
