KEEP it clean is the call from Burleigh MP Michael Hart who has asked his followers not to resort to dirty election tactics.
The plea came over social media after most of Mr Hart’s campaign signs were stolen and several on private land pushed over at the weekend.

“It’s very typical behaviour during elections,” he said.
“I’ve been talking to the other candidates and saying let’s just have a clean campaign.
“I won’t get drawn into any nasty stuff and I don’t want any of my supporters to get involved in this sort of thing. Let’s just keep it positive.”
Mudgeeraba MP Ros Bates said she also lost about 20 signs over the first weekend of the campaign, but had come to expect the thefts.
“You expect it every election and you are never disappointed. It’s just part of the hurly-burly of elections,” she said.
“Obviously it is an offence and each one probably costs about $15 to replace but it happens in the middle of the night so you’ve just got to get up and replace them the next day.”
