MINOR parties the Greens and Pauline Hanson’s One Nation have dominated the coveted top spots on the ballot paper.
Of the Gold Coast electorates, One Nation secured four top spots on the ballet paper, compared to the Greens three.
The Greens also secured bottom spot on three occasions.
Poll analysts say candidates can gain some benefit by being placed either first or last on the ballot paper, with voters quick to cast their vote ticking either the top or bottom of the card.
The position of all 80 candidates on the ballot papers were drawn at Gaven on Sunday.
Labor candidate for Burleigh, Wayne (Rabbit) Bartholomew, also scored the bottom spot on the ballet.
Mr Bartholomew was thrilled with his position on the ballot draw.
“With everything I’ve done in life, I’ve always started from the bottom and got to the top,” he said.
“A surfer should start from the outside gate.”
Mr Bartholomew was pleased the Electoral Commission Queensland accepted ‘Rabbit’ on the ballot paper.
The LNP was handed a tough draw across all electorates with all candidates failing to get first or last on the ballot.
