A computer-generated image has revealed the face of a man who attacked a teenage girl on a quiet Gold Coast street.

What happens after a sexual assault?

A COMPUTER-GENERATED image has revealed the likeness of a man police want to speak with after a sexual assault and attempted robbery of a teenage girl in Varsity Lakes last night.

The girl, in her late teens, was walking on Mattocks Rd around 8.10pm when she saw a man arguing on his phone.

As she passed he attempted to grab her bag off her shoulder before touching her inappropriately, forcing her to run back the way she had come.

She was able to flee to safety and a QLD Police spokesman confirmed she was unharmed.

“The young woman involved wasn’t physically injured thankfully,” he said.
“Police are concerned about any kind of violence or attempted violence, regardless of the time, date or place.

“Detectives are working hard to locate this man.”

It’s believed the man fled along Mattocks Rd, however police patrols at the time failed to locate him.

He’s described as caucasian with a “proportionate build”, around 30 years old, 180cm tall with blonde hair. Anyone who recognises him is urged to call police.

Officers from Burleigh Criminal Investigation Branch are now investigating.
