A REFUSAL to shut schools is causing chaos in the classrooms and in the minds of parents such as myself.
I’m furious the Prime Minister has passed the buck and left such a massive decision to parents already under so much pressure.
While the thought of working 60 hours a week with three fighting children underfoot fills me with dread, it’s probably what I should be doing. Am I being selfish by continuing to send my kids to school? But I figure they are healthy, not in the high-risk category and will definitely be getting a better education at school.
But I am the exception, with almost all 50 mum friends I asked telling me they are keeping kids at home. And why shouldn’t they? In one breath the PM says schools must remain open and in the next he’s telling us for the nation’s security we must stay 1.5m apart from each other. It’s a farce.
We need a leader who is willing to put the nation’s physical and mental health ahead of the economy because without our health we’ll have no wealth. Close the schools, because whether it’s this week or a few weeks from now, the entire country will soon come to a grinding halt.
