Welcome to the NT News’ rolling coverage of Territory politics, where this week’s sittings are expected to be the toughest test yet for the Country Liberal government.

Parliament to date has seen the CLP lead a strong reform agenda almost entirely on its own terms, but the unfolding ‘job for a mate’ police recruitment scandal is posing a true test of leadership for Lia Finocchiaro and her team.

Also on the agenda is the Territory Coordinator Bill, plans to scrap the debt cap, third party merit reviews and portable long-service leave, new powers for police to target domestic violence and parole offenders, and public housing reforms.

Stay tuned for your daily slice of life inside the Wedding Cake.
