Eighteen-year-old Chloe Marlin, her seven-month-old baby Rosalie and her partner Hunter are trapped inside their home in the Upper Myall, running out of food and with no nappies left.

Located just off the Upper Myall River, the couple told the Telegraph they were unable to leave their home, with water up to car windows in their driveway.

“If we were to drive through our driveway at the moment, the water would probably be halfway up the windows on the car,” Ms Marlin said.

Her house, which is on a larger property, had not been damaged by floodwater, but Ms Marlin said warnings about the rising flood came well after the time the young family could of left their home safely.

When they reached out to the SES for support, the family were told it was not safe for them to get supplies because their house was located on the river.

“When the warnings were sent out, we were already flooded,” she said.

“The SES told us they can only bring supplies out by boats and it would be unsafe for them to do so because of the very high flow river.”

The couple has been told that, if the rain stops, they will be able to get out by Saturday but if it continues there is no telling how long they will be trapped inside.
