Arrest warrant issued for Gold Coast Titans recruit

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of Gold Coast Titan recruit Maurice Blair after he failed to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of Gold Coast Titan recruit Maurice Blair after he failed to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

The 29-year-old professional rugby league player was charged with obstructing police and drinking in a public place after an incident in Maryborough just before midnight on New Year's Eve.

Maryborough lawyer Travis George appeared for the accused on behalf of Gold Coast firm Moloney MacCallum Lawyers and said Blair could not make it to court because he was at his place of employment.

The lawyer then requested the case be adjourned to the Gold Coast.

But Magistrate John Smith issued a warrant for Blair's arrest.
