A Mid-North Coast paraglider has been rescued after crashing into a gum tree and getting caught in branches 30 metres off the ground.
The paraglider careered into a canopy of trees in thick scrub near Laurieton around 12.45pm on Tuesday near Lord St.
Fire and Rescue NSW were assisted by police and paramedics – who used a fire trail to access the dense bushland – to reach the man.
They located the uninjured man suspended in the canopy.
First responders required a firefighter to scale the tree to rig up a vertical rescue harness.
Both men were then lowered to safety and the paraglider was assessed for injuries.
