A 70-year-old man has died after being critically injured in an alleged hit-and-run in south-western Sydney on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Canterbury Rd and Belmont Rd at Glenfield about 4.15pm and arrived to find the man with the critical injuries.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before rushing him to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
However, police later confirmed the man had died from his injuries.
Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command were told the man was hit by a silver dual-cab utility, possibly a Toyota HiLux.
“The car allegedly failed to stop and was last seen travelling north along Canterbury Road,” police said in a statement.
“A crime scene has been established and is being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.”
Police are requesting anyone with information about the incident – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Campbelltown Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
