A helping hand is being extended to flood victims with Sydney-based online and digital marketplace giant Airtasker offering those affected a $50 voucher to support the massive clean up.
The community marketplace allows people to hire skilled workers in exchange for cash.
“To everyone in NSW affected by the recent floods – our thoughts are with you,” Airtasker said in a statement.
It comes as mid north coast communities continue a massive clean-up after being devastated by flooding last week.
Among the worst hit areas was Taree, which experienced a 1-in-500-year flood, just four years on from its 1-in-100-year flood in 2021.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in Taree today, where earlier he met with members of the State Emergency Service at its headquarters after deploying 70 Australian Defence Force members to assist with the clean-up.
Airtasker workers can help with a number of jobs, including mould removal, deliveries, waste collection, flood repair, garden clean up, among others.
The offer requires those affected to book jobs with a minimum $200 in order to receive the support.
