Nearly $90,000 worth of fines has been handed out to Sydney restaurants in the last three months, but one suburb’s establishments stand above the rest as top offenders.
NSW Food Authority have issued 44 restaurants in Sydney with $91,300 in penalty fines between May 15 to August 14, with unsatisfactory cleanliness, failed food standards, and allegedly supplying food that is not of the nature or substance demanded by the purchaser as just some of the breaches these establishments.
However, of the $85,300 worth of fines, Burwood restaurants have been hit with a whooping $40,040 in infringements, with some of their establishments breaching health standards up to six times.
Burwood based Pot & Sizzle was slapped with $4400 worth of infringments from the NSW Food Authority, after it failed to store food in a way that would protect it from contamination, failed to meet a standard of cleanliness and left equipment in a state of disrepair.
Meanwhile, at the nearby Hong Kong Yue Baby, the restauranters were issued fines totalling $68 20 for seven offences, including failing to comply with a prohibition order and failing to meet a standard of cleanliness after previous warnings.
Another Burwood-based restaurant, the New Hunan Noodle Bar was issued a $5280 fine for six offences.

Located in Burwood, the Chinese restaurant was issued a $1540 fine for Fail to comply with a prohibition order

BAMBINOS KINDERGARTEN FAIRWATER
The Child care centre in Harrington Park was fined $880 for Fail to take all practicable measures to eradicate and prevent the harbourage of pests – Previous warnings given
Camden Council health inspectors discovered the breach – which had the potential to lead to a “harbourage of pests” – in late July before fining the childcare centre, which caters for children aged between six weeks and six years old, in August.
