Dramatic video footage taken from boats in Brisbane Water on Saturday showed homes going up in flames at Koolewong – about halfway from Gosford to Woy Woy and squeezed between the bush and Brisbane Water.
More than 1000 fireys, 300 vehicles and nine aircraft battled the rages blazes.
Conditions have eased in the area throughout the night, with thunderstorms bringing light rain to the firegrounds.
