Aussie “It girl” of the moment, Margot Robbie has traded out the Barbie pink and for old-school denim and striking Chanel heels.

The star actor took to the streets of Los Angeles – where she spends most of her time living and working – over the weekend, to catch up with a group of four girlfriends at The Ivy in Santa Monica.

Wearing blue denim shorts, a white button up blouse and black cat-eye sunglasses, Robbie turned heads of those dining behind the white fenced off Californian celebrity hub on Saturday, as she walked in bright red patent Chanel platform heels.

The group enjoyed the late Summer sunshine as they gathered to chat outside the restaurant, with the Australian actor photographed holding her friend’s baby in a capsule over her arm.

The 33-year-old, who has become a much-adored and copied style icon in 2023, parted ways with Chanel in November 2022, four years after signing a contract with the fashion house.

At major red carpet events, fans and fashionistas criticised Robbie’s outfits created and styled by the iconic French designer, and despite donning the bright platforms and carrying Chanel handbag for lunch, she has since experimented with other pieces and brands.

Queensland-born Robbie also visited the XIV Karats jewellery store in Beverly Hills before sitting down for a bite.

The former Neighbours sensation recently starred as leading lady in the highest-grossing movie of the year and history making blockbuster, Barbie, alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken.

She also co-produced the film with husband Tom Ackerly, with the couple having previously produced films including Promising Young Woman, I, Tonya and Birds of Prey together.
