The longtime family home of Outback Wrangler Matt Wright and his wife Kaia Wright has gone out to market.

The stunning semirural Virginia property, at 124 Virginia Rd, positioned on eight acres offers plenty of privacy and family friendly features off the main road.

The call for expressions of interest comes as Mr Wright’s fight continues in the NT courts two years after a chopper crash killed his mate, 34-year-old Chris ‘Willow’ Wilson in 2022.

Mr Wright will face an eight week trial in the Darwin Supreme Court on July 7 after pleading not guilty to perverting the course of justice in the aftermath of the crash.

WorkSafe NT charges have been brought against him, which he is fighting to keep in the Darwin Local Court.

Mr Wright and his company Helibrook were both charged with reckless conduct risking death and failing to comply with his health and safety duty.

He and the company are both contesting the charges.

Neighbours had previously complained about the couple using their home like a helicopter pad flying their aircraft in and out of the property 30km southeast of Darwin.

The noise complaints, which were lodged in 2021, triggered a lengthy legal battle which resulted in a ban on flying the helicopter to the property.

The home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and six carports, and has undergone extensive high-end architectural transformation in the past few years.

There are a number of premium features and finishes including brand new bathrooms, a new irrigation system and new fencing.

Ray White Northern Territory listed the home online, with plans for further extension and an outdoor entertainment area also available with purchase.

“This property blends luxury, design, and functionality-offering an extraordinary living experience with meticulous attention to detail and premium finishes,” the listing read.

“The expansive layout includes a bright and free flowing living room, complemented by polished concrete floors and an architectural design that enhances the home’s aesthetic appeal.

“Situated in the tranquil suburb of Virginia, this property offers a peaceful retreat while being conveniently located near essential amenities.”

Expressions of interest close on March 8, 2025.
