A TOTAL fire ban has been declared for the Darwin and Adelaide River areas for 24 hours.
The ban was issued by the Chief Fire Control Officer on Saturday afternoon, which commenced at midnight.
“No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory within the fire ban areas,” a statement from Bushfires NT read.
“The fire ban is declared for a 24 hour period commencing at 0000 hours on Sunday, July 11.”
“The Fire Ban is valid from midnight to midnight.”
The ban includes the Darwin, Batchelor, and Adelaide River emergency response areas and the Litchfield Municipality and the Coomalie Shire.
