Scott Morrison is called 'the worst PM ever' at pub

What was meant to be a quiet schooner with locals bubbled over into a difficult evening for the Prime Minister last night.

Scott Morrison was confronted by frustrated locals while visiting the Edgeworth Tavern in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, on Wednesday night.

After pouring beers for patrons at the lively boozer, Mr Morrison found himself on the receiving end of criticism from some - including one who called him the “worst PM ever”.

A pubgoer was seen giving Mr Morrison a hard time about a range of issues, with a crowd gathering round to see what the commotion was about.

“Listen to me for a change. You can have a million dollar house, $250,000 in the bank and franking credits but a disability pensioner can’t have an income,” a video from the pub shows the man saying.

“You’ve also been immigration minister. I’ve got a partner I’ve been with six-and-a-half years and I’ve got a right as an Australian to choose who my partner should be.

“We’ve been to the tribunal twice and won on both occasions. That was 14 months ago. Why can’t I have a partner?

“You know another promise you made. You were going to have an integrity commission.

“You better f*****g do something. I’m sick of your bull****.”

Mr Morrison appeared to be trying to calm the man down and politely listening to what he had to say.

The man was later seen being escorted from the venue.

Another video from the pub shows a woman, called Chantelle, appearing to line up to take a selfie with the Prime Minister.

However, as Mr Morrison looks towards the camera, she tells him: “Congratulations on being the worst prime minister we’ve ever had.”

Other locals told the Newcastle Herald that Mr Morrison had been treated unfairly.

Carpenter John Livingstone, 41, saw the fracas and said people should “have a bit of respect” for the PM.

“Doesn’t matter who you are - whether you are just a worker or the Prime Minister - a little respect would be nice,” he said.

It all calmed down later on, with Mr Morrison seen chatting with families as they enjoyed dinner.
