The coronavirus pandemic is a human health crisis but this Adelaide vet was not about to let it turn into one for our beloved pets as well.

Veterinarian Brett Boling was not going to let the coronavirus lockdown from getting in the way of helping his most important clients.

At the height of the pandemic, Dr Boling looked after beloved family pets through contact-free consults.

The owner of Adelaide Mobile Vet Service says “we pretty much did everything we could outside”.

At his two clinics, in Parafield Gardens and Munno Para, social distancing and strict hygiene rules are also followed.

Business manager Manyana Starkie is recognising Dr Boling as part of the Thanks A Million campaign to highlight individuals who help their community and keep us safe throughout the pandemic.

Ms Starkie said Dr Boling did a notable job in caring for pets in need of emergency services when many other veterinarians had closed their doors.

“There was added pressure because everyone was afraid (to open) and he took that in his stride,” she said.

“It didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was, he would be there.”

News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller said nominations are open to say thank you to frontline medical staff, retail, teachers, posties and everyone in between who keep us going during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The heart of our communities has shone brighter than ever this year,” he said. “This campaign encourages all of us to pause and say thank you.”
