A TEENAGE girl has been taken to hospital after complaining of neck pain after getting off a ride at a Gold Coast theme park.
The incident occurred at Wet’n’Wild at Oxenford just after noon.
Queensland Ambulance said the girl, aged in her late teens, suffered suspected a spinal injury.
She was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Wet ‘n’ Wild issued a statement today about the incident saying park lifeguards attended to a guest on the Aqua Loop attraction after the rider complained of neck pain at the completion of the ride.
“Lifeguards and the on-site nurse provided first-aid,” the spokesman said.
“The guest advised lifeguards of a pre-existing condition and she was transported to hospital as a matter of precaution.
“The safety and wellbeing of guests is the highest priority at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast.
“The park has a highly trained emergency response team and works closely with emergency services.”
