Sam Ibrahim could be killed in revenge for a crime his dad committed decades ago

Sam Ibrahim’s fight against being deported to Lebanon could hinge on a claim he would be assassinated there in revenge for a crime his father committed decades ago

If Sam Ibrahim is deported to Lebanon he could be assassinated by a family there who still wants revenge for a crime his father committed in the country decades ago.

That is the claim of a “village mayor” contained in a document issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Interior and Municipalities and dated June 22, 2017. If it is validated it is likely to be used in 52-year-old Sam Ibrahim’s fight against deportation to Lebanon.

The document, translated into English from Arabic and seen by The Saturday Telegraph, says Ibrahim’s father, Mohamad Hassan Ibrahim, also known as El Joumhour, “lived from 1973 till 1977 in our town before travelling to Australia”.

Mohamad Hassan Ibrahim’s hide-out is understood to have been in the district of Akkar, just outside Tripoli.

The document says he “was forced to escape to seek refuge in our region … after suffering some troubles”.

The document then says Ibrahim’s father “resided in the house of Younes Sayyour, the uncle of his spouse Wahiba. He did not leave our region till his travelling date, since he was wanted by the parents of the victims of the attack.”

That status is to be passed down to Sam Ibrahim, the document said, “ … because the idea of revenge prevails in this region”.

“Circumstances in Lebanon are subject to … security chaos and absence of the authority, such times are an opportunity for the avengers to take their revenge, thus (Sam) Ibrahim, the eldest son of Mohamad Ibrahim, is in danger and claimed for revenge instead of his father.

“His life may be part of the price that has to be paid because of his father’s actions.”

The letter concluded by saying it was a “certificate given upon the attestation of the witnesses who know the story” who were named as a “former mayor” and “the previous director of the village school”.

The nature of the crime was not detailed.

Sam Ibrahim is the older brother of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim. John Ibrahim, in his book “Last King Of The Cross”, laments their “late father”.

Authorities will now have to establish if the document is authentic and it is understood it could play a part in Ibrahim’s pending legal fight to remain in Australia.

Ibrahim was secretly flown to Western Australia on Thursday by heavily armed police and is set to be deported after the government revoked his permanent resident visa.

The former boss of the Nomads bikie gang and married father of two was jailed for a minimum five years over a gun supplying operation with former Rose Tattoo drummer Paul de Marco.

Inheriting a revenge hit might not be the only danger Ibrahim could face in Lebanon.

Feared Sydney crime figure Bilal Haouchar is living there and has previously expressed a desire to harm or kill both Sam Ibrahim and his younger brother Michael.

Haouchar fled Australia two years ago.

Sam Ibrahim’s battle to remain in Australia is set to become a drawn-out legal fight.

When contacted, Ibrahim’s immigration lawyer William Levingston said his client would be challenging the deportation on legal grounds, which could take up to 18 months.
