Driver sought after alleged crime spree including dognapping
A dog spent more than nine hours in the back of an allegedly stolen car before the driver was arrested on the Kuranda Range.

POLICE are urging for the driver of a silver sedan to contact them after a man, alleged to have been involved in various offences, was seen getting into her car in Cairns North.
CCTV cameras captured the man entering the sedan while it was stopped in a carpark on Sheridan St north of Upward St.
Detectives believe there was a woman in the driver’s seat as the vehicle drove north and turned left into Grove St and want to speak with her.
They have not revealed whether she knew the man.
A police spokeswoman said they were investigating various offences allegedly involving the man including the theft of a black Mitsubishi utility with the victim’s dog inside.
The car was stolen from a Pease St carpark yesterday (WEDS) afternoon and later evaded police in Kuranda before being stopped on the range early this morning.
The dog was unharmed and returned to his owner.
Police have also alleged the man may have been involved in the theft of cash from a taxi near the corner of Grove and Martyn Sts about 2pm yesterday.
A 47-year-old Manoora man is currently assisting police.
Anyone who may have witnessed any of the above incidents and has not already spoken to police is also urged to come forward.
