Man, 40, killed in Warrego Highway ute vs. pedestrian
A 40-year-old man has died after being struck by a ute on a major Queensland highway.
A man has been killed on the Warrego Highway between Toowoomba and Dalby.
The 40-year-old pedestrian from Nanango in the South Burnett was struck by ute at Bowenville about 9.15pm Friday.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said multiple paramedic units including a rescue helicopter attended but the man sadly died at the scene.
The Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Early investigations indicate the man was walking east on the highway when he was hit by a ute travelling in the same direction.
The ute driver, a 26-year-old Toowoomba man, was not physically injured.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with further information or relevant footage to contact police.
