A Geelong teenager who allegedly called triple-0 because he “wanted a ride to his girlfriend’s house” threw toilet water at custody officers after he threatened to hit them with his urine, a court has heard.

Ethan Eden-Elmes, 18, who has been linked to Norlane and Corio, was granted bail at the Geelong Magistrates Court on Monday and will return to face drug and assault charges in December.

Mr Eden-Elmes, who has not yet entered a plea, was in Thomson with “nowhere to go” when he allegedly made the triple-0 call and told officers he wanted to be driven to a Norlane address.

He was taken to the Geelong station and placed in the cells where he allegedly threatened to throw urine at police custody officers.

After being told he could not see a magistrate until the next sitting day, Mr Eden-Elmes allegedly threw a cup of water at the custody officers that they claimed had a “strong urine smell”.

Footage from the cell showed Eden-Elmes allegedly shadow boxing in the moments before this and filling a cup with liquid from the toilet.

He then allegedly placed the cup on the sink and stared at the door to his cell while “waiting for confrontation”.

The court heard Mr Eden-Elmes was also accused of allegedly throwing a rock through his mother’s window and later being found in Bell Park with a “large number of drugs”.

His defence lawyer, Jonathan Brancato, said Mr Eden-Elmes was “quite embarrassed” about what was said to have happened in the cells and now knows “the officers were there to assist him”.

Mr Brancato added Mr Eden-Elmes will soon be a father and “he wants to be a good role model for his child”.

Speaking directly to Magistrate Simon Guthrie, Mr Eden-Elmes said he “did dumb s*** because I just turned 18” but he was “not going to sit here and try to piss in your pocket”.

Police said the alleged behaviour was “unwarranted, disrespectful and appalling” and said there “needs to be more punishment”.

Mr Guthrie said the alleged offending was “strategically planned”.

“They are simply doing what is best to protect you,” Mr Guthrie said.
