GOLD Coast baby Lilliana Sheridan will be poked and prodded in the Samitivej Hospital Bangkok for the next two days as doctors assess the damage to her legs from infection.
Lilliana was flown from Phuket to Bangkok for specialist treatment on her infected legs last night.
He legs were badly damaged when she contracted meningococcal last week, turning her limbs blue and black.
The family have been frantically trying to get a medevac back to Australia, fearing Lilliana’s legs would be amputated in a Thai hospital.
Mr Sheridan told the Bulletin today that doctors had told him Lilliana’s condition had not worsened over the past three days.
“One paediatric doctor on the plane looking over things said you couldn’t rule anything out but the infection to her legs doesn’t look too superficial,” Mr Sheridan said.
“It is most likely she is going to have to get a skin graft, or scraping of dead skin from her legs.”
He said doctors will observe Lilliana’s infection over the next two days before making a call on what to do next.
“From what I can gather she will most likely have a skin graft on pretty much the front side of the right leg from her knee nearly to her ankle,” he said.
“They are definitely going to observe her over the next two days and do nothing.
“There are that many scans she has to have and they have to put her legs and hands through them.
“She has been so strong through this whole thing, she is just living her life.”
Mr Sheridan said he couldn’t bare to think about Lilliana losing her legs and he was happy she was now at one of the best hospitals in the world, the Samitivej Hospital Bangkok.
But he also thanked those at the Bangkok Hospital in Phuket Town for saving Lilliana’s life.
On Friday, Ms Robinson made a heartfelt plea for people to donate O negative blood as there was none left in the hospital for Lilliana.
“My baby is dying in Bangkok Hospital Phuket Town,” she wrote.
“She needs O negative blood, please help me, someone please, I’m begging I can’t lose my baby.”
Within a day more than 1000 people had donated blood to the Red Cross and Lilliana started to improve.
“We’re both just overwhelmed with the help everyone has given us,” Mr Sheridan said yesterday.
“And the help the Thai government and hospitals have helped.”

The family initially thought their insurance wouldn’t cover a medevac to Australia but were told on Tuesday afternoon Zoom would pay for all of it.
Before that the family has raised almost $20,000 from people trying to get Lilliana hom e.
Last night mother Ms Robinson posted on the Go Fund Me page telling people to stop donating.
“Insurance is now covering the costs, we will use this money to aid in Lillian’s long rehabilitation,” she wrote.
“Thank you every kind human that has helped us even if it was just a kind word.
“I’ve gone from running down the street with my lifeless baby to hopefully coming home with her in the next few weeks.
“Thank you isn’t enough.”
