Oxenford business robbed by three men at gunpoint

THE search continues for three men who fled after holding up an Oxenford premises late last night.

Around 11pm the trio, wearing balaclavas, entered the Maudsland St business, one armed with a shotgun and another with a cattle prod.

Police say the men made demands for money and forced the two employees present to assist them in retrieving money and property from behind the counter.

When a 62-year-old male employee complied the group fled the scene, however police were unable to confirm exactly what was taken, according to Detective Senior Sergeant Arron Ottoway.

“At this stage, with the way our investigation is unfolding, we won’t stipulate exactly whaat was taken forom the hotel, but the offenders did leave with some property,” he said.

Police are now working in collaboration with a northern investigation team, and say the case is a top priority for their office.

The business in question declined to comment, however no one was injured during the incident.

Initial investigations indicate the men arrived at the licensed premises in a vehicle believed to have been driven by a fourth person.

Investigations are ongoing.
