A woman has been rushed to hospital after she was allegedly stabbed in the neck during a horror daylight fight in Brisbane’s CBD.

A woman has been rushed to hospital after she was allegedly stabbed in the neck in Brisbane’s CBD.

Emergency crews were called to the corner of George and Turbot Streets in the city’s centre about 1.30pm on Saturday.

A 34-year-old woman was found with wounds to her neck and cheek and taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

According to Queensland Police Service, a 20-year-old woman was arrested a short time later after allegedly fleeing the scene.

Later on Saturday she was charged with offences including acts intended to maim and possession of cannabis and methamphetamine.

“It will be alleged at 1.30pm an altercation occurred between two women who are known to each other,” a police spokesman said.

“It will be further alleged during the altercation one woman received stab wounds to the cheek and neck from a pair of scissors.”

The 34-year-old woman is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
