MAKEUP artist Amanda Ramsay has devoted her career to helping women feel good about themselves but for the next few weeks, it’s all about her.
Nominated by her husband, the 46-year-old Currumbin Waters woman has earned her spot among the Women of the Year for her work urging other women to “feel seen”.
A “pro-ageing” advocate and age positive crusader, she shifted her focus to empowering older women several years ago.
“My mother-in-law told me many years ago that after menopause she felt invisible, and that just broke my heart,” she said.
“I thought I was going to do everything in my power to make sure everyone who crosses my path never feels invisible.”
As the awards ceremony approaches Ms Ramsay said she’s looking forward to building relationships with her fellow nominees.
“I’m most excited about standing next to the other 23 women, being a part of that group feels really, really cool,” she said.
“And about connecting with the other finalists, meeting them and hearing their stories because I feel we’re really quite powerful together as a team.
