Where to find the cheapest fuel on the Gold Coast

Fuel has once again dipped below $1 but don’t get too excited, a motoring body has warned. Here’s where you can get cheap fuel in your suburb.

FUEL prices have once again dipped below $1 but don’t get too excited, a motoring body has warned.

Motorists have been pleasantly surprised at the bowser with e10 unleaded plummeting below 98 cents per litre at some Coast servos this week.

RACQ spokeswoman Lauren Ritchie said it was unlikely prices would go below 90 cents per litre as experienced in the last cheap phase of the cycle.

“While prices won’t fall as low during this cycle due to a higher global oil price, there will still be plenty of unleaded petrol for below 100cpl,” she said.

“Some fuel companies on the Gold Coast … have already dropped prices below 100cpl and in the next few days we hope to see more retailers do the same.”

During the last fuel cycle in April, the cheapest E10 fuel on the Coast was 75.9 cents per litre at United Carrara and the average fuel price was around 85 cents per litre.

Ms Ritchie said unleaded fuel dropped below $1 briefly in 2006 and 2016 but had not been this consistently low since 2005.

She said if you are filling up today on the Coast to aim for $1.02 or less.

“Filling up for the cheapest price can save you hundreds of dollars every year, it also helps drive competition in your area.”
