Wet weather has set in on the Gold Coast, ruining any plans to visit our glorious beaches and soak in the sun.

But don’t fret - there are still plenty of places to explore if you’re visiting for the day or sick of being stuck at home.

Here are nine fun things do on the Gold Coast on a rainy day.

1. Hit some of Australia’s best shopping centres

Get some retail therapy at Pacific Fair in Broadbeach - Queensland’s second biggest shopping centre - or Robina Town Centre and Harbour Town.

If you want to avoid crowds try Runaway Bay shopping centre, Paradise Centre in Surfers Paradise and Southport’s Australia Fair.

2. Discover new worlds at Infinity Attraction

This indoor futuristic maze is a must-do for families.

The attraction takes people on a 30-minute journey through worlds of wonder - from trippy landscapes, to beautiful environments and illusions.

3. Get cultural at HOTA

Home of the Arts (HOTA) is the city’s cultural precinct located in Surfers Paradise.

It boasts art exhibitions, entertainment, culture, parklands and a lake.

4. Let off some steam at a smash room

Combining entertainment with physical exercise, smash rooms are the place to release all your pent up frustrations and have some fun.

The rooms offer a safe environment for people to smash glassware, TVs, office equipment and more.

5. Visit The Wax Museum

This Surfers Paradise tourist attraction is home to the largest collection of authentic wax figures in the Southern Hemisphere.

Johnny Depp, Michael Jackson and Elvis are just some of the famous faces you’ll see.

6. Swing into Holey Moley

Get ready to kick putt at Holey Moley Golf Club in Surfers Paradise.

This is the only place on the Coast where you can play 18 holes of mini golf, grab a cocktail at the bar and join in on some karaoke.

Rainy days are a perfect time to grab some popcorn and settle into the latest blockbuster.

There are more than a dozen movie theatres on the Coast - including shopping centre cineplexes, old-school cinemas and even a drive-in at Yatala.

You will discover the strange, shocking and beautiful at this museum with a twist.

If you’re after an adrenaline rush, look no further.

iFLY was the second indoor skydiving facility to open in Australia and caters to people of all abilities, from tourists to locals and skydivers.
