Gold Coasters looking forward to a sunny Saturday and Sunday are warned not to be put off by some dark clouds hanging around today, with a late possible thunderstorm likely to get all the rain out of the way for the next few days.

“There’s a chance of a bit of moisture and onshore winds in the afternoon with a later shower ahead, but it should be all clear by tomorrow morning,” Weatherzone meteorologist Sam Brown said.
While temperatures have dropped to single digits in the mornings throughout the week, early risers on the weekends shouldn’t have as much difficulty getting out of bed.
Overnight temperatures for the next few days are unlikely to drop below 10 degrees around the Seaway, and will warm up to around 22 degrees over the weekend.
Top temperatures are expected to drop to below 20 next week as winter wears on, but clear skies and sunshine is expected to continue.
With about 30,000 expected to run the Gold Coast Marathon on Saturday and Sunday, Mr Brown said it was looking like a lovely weekend for a good run.
