A GOLD Coast ex motocross racer warns kids not to emulate his online video of a jump off a roof into a small pool, saying he’s done plenty of gymnastics and was “familiar” with such a stunt.

Grant Bink, 25, who has done freestyle aerial motorbike jumps and gymnast training as a kid, leaps from a second-storey roof and lands in the pool.

An initial photo looks like he’s about to become a cropper but a video with the post shows him making it in front of stunned party-goers.

“Everyone was jumping off a first-level roof and I figured you could probably make it from the second. I was all right until I got up there. But I thought I can’t not do it now,” he said.

“That photo definitely looks like I’m not going to make it. Originally I wanted to do a flip but I thought that could end quite badly,” he said. “I was pretty confident after I jumped that I was going to land in the pool.”

Asked if he would do it again, the electrician said “no” and advised anyone else – especially kids – not to even think about: “I was pretty familiar with what I was doing. But I wouldn’t encour-age that. I’d hate to see some kid get hurt trying to be the centre of attention at a party.”
